Hawaii Day 2- March 10

Day two in Hawaii! I woke up early and watched the sun come up through the window of our hotel room. We all got ready, and then it was off to Diamond Head! Basically, you drive into the middle of an old volcano crater, then hike up to the rim. It's an awesome hike with a long tunnel, 99 super steep stairs, a spiral staircase, and you come out in some bunkers that you have to climb out of to get to the view. It was pretty awesome!! Here are a few pictures. I only include the first one to show you how very windy it was!
through the cave!
and up the stairs!
Beautiful view!!!

After we returned to our hotel from the hike, we all went our separate ways. Berkeley out shopping, Maggie and my parents to Laie to get Brian, and Steve and I decided to get to the beach! It was very crowded, but we had a fantastic time building walls to keep the waves away, swimming out as far as we could, and just relaxing on the beach. Unfortunately, we forgot to bring our sunscreen, and by the time Berkeley joined us and brought us our forgotten sunscreen, we were just a tad bit burned... :)
That night, we all walked from our hotel to the Ala Moana mall. On the way back, we stopped and had dinner at Tony Roma's. I must compliment them on their amazing service! Brian asked the waitress for a slice of lemon. As she walked away, he told us he should have just asked for a bowl full of lemon slices. Not a minute later, the waitress was back with a bowl of lemon slices. And then as we were leaving the restaurant it was starting to rain a bit. One of the other waiters was just coming into the hotel and told us to wait, because someone left an umbrella a few days ago, and he was going to give it to us. Amazing service- and after we had already paid! Day 2 in Hawaii was a success!
