Hawaii Day 1- March 9

Alright! I'm ready to post about our super awesome Hawaii adventures! First, I want to warn you that the next several posts are going to be overloaded with pictures. I think pictures are the best part of blogs. So- without further ado... here's our Hawaii trip!

We actually began the vacation on March 8th. We drove to Salt Lake that afternoon, so we could catch a noon flight the next day. On the morning of the 9th, we packed up and got on a plane! The flight was about 7 hours. I spent most of the time reading, listening to music, and watching movies on the little personal movie player. All the movies were free, so that was exciting. We even flew over my favorite city!
Can you tell what it is!?

It was so wonderful to arrive in Honolulu and no longer need a coat!!
Here we are right outside the airport.

Maggie came to meet us, (Brian had rehearsal, but came down the next day) and we checked in to our hotel.
I just love the ocean!!!

Then, we decided to explore the area a little bit. We (me, Steve, Berkeley, Maggie) started off by going to the King Street Farmers Market. We got some super yummy fruit to share.

We stopped by Waikiki Beach to wade in the water a little bit.
And then my sister Maggie and I posed for this awesome picture. Some of my students found out I was going to Hawaii to see my sister, so they requested a picture of me and my sister. Then they changed their mind to a picture of me and my sister in Hawaii. Finally, they requested a picture of me and my sister, in Hawaii, with one of "These Things!" (Strumming the air like a ukelele.) I promised them I would get a picture and bring it to show them. I keep forgetting to take it, but they seem to have forgotten anyway...
We joined up with the parents for dinner at Subway and Burger King.
By then we were all pretty exhausted, so we went back to the hotel to get some much needed rest to prepare for our first full day in Hawaii!
