I can't be failing at this whole blogging every Sunday thing already! Okay, apparently I am. But in my defense, I don't really have anything too incredibly interesting to say. I started work this past week. It's been a very interesting experience thus far. I'm going to be working in a Montessori school, and I'm not Montessori trained. It's been interesting to learn more about Montessori and see how it fits in with my view of education. It's super exciting to be starting up a new school! And by exciting, I mean totally crazy! The school is under construction, so we're going to be in the Archery room at the community center (same building) until December. Unfortunately, they're still waiting on a part for the fire alarm/sprinkler system in the archery room, and school starts Thursday. So, the Methodist church has been so kind as to lend us a couple rooms in their building. We're planning to be there for the first 6 1/2 days of school. That is unless the sprinkler part comes in... Yeah. We're taking it day by day. I'm still not entirely sure what my job is going to look like. But I don't feel too bad, because I don't know that anyone else does either. :) I'm just super excited to get the kids here. Because really, kids are kids. The reason I went into education was for the kids. So I can't wait to meet them!
Steve's been going to trainings and such for the past week and half, and he starts full time at his school tomorrow. Hooray! We're both excited to get this school year started and see what our new jobs have in store for us! I'll try to have something more exciting next week... maybe pictures... :) Good luck to everyone with the start of a new school year!!
