Welcome to Laramie!

I'm back! So, when we were getting ready to leave Logan, Hillaree and I promised each other we would blog every Sunday. Last Sunday she was great and posted... but we didn't have internet yet. :( But I am determined to redeem myself, so here is my first post from the city of Laramie! We moved out here July 15th and so far, we're loving it! Steve and I both start work on August 15th. Him as a school psychologist at Linford Elementary, and me as a PE/music/art/Spanish teacher at the brand new Montessori School. We're both super excited! We've spent the past 2 weeks unpacking and exploring this new city. We've also started a kind of game... seeing how often we can find the bucking bronco around town. They are everywhere! In the past few weeks we've also started getting to know a few other couples in the neighborhood. I'm looking forward to making some new great friends, although I really miss everyone back in Utah!!
Anyway- I took a few pictures of our place... so that just like when we moved to Logan, I can give you the grand tour!! Welcome to our little apartment!
We'll start the tour with the outside of our wonderful home, taken from Google Maps. It's a small house divided into 2 apartments. We are in the basement, and the entrance is the door you can see. Let's head on in...
...and we can proceed to the basement. On the right, you'll see an entrance to the garage. We are lucky to have it, so we have lots of storage in there. The neighbors upstairs do lots of car work, so all their tools are in there. No room for actual cars though. When you go down the stairs, you'll want to take a left...
and you'll be in the shared laundry room. See that door there, that's our door. Hooray!
You'll walk right in to the living room. Turn to your left, and you see the dining area. I'm so glad we have a real dining area... that's not part of the kitchen! Turn the corner to your left and you'll see the kitchen.
Take a moment and admire a few things with me. Number one- dishwasher! Number two- full sized stove! Number three- a fridge that is taller than me! Did I mention the dishwasher!! I love this kitchen. There's not a ton of storage space, but we were able to fit everything we needed. Let's head out of the kitchen and take a right.
The dining area is to your left now. It's all just one big long room. There's a nice storage closet down there at the end, and if we keep walking past it we'll end up in the office.
This room is home to our computer, Steve's school stuff, and my sewing stuff. Also, the three boxes we haven't yet unpacked. They're all old papers and school stuff, and we just can't bring ourselves to sort through them quite yet. Maybe in the next few months... :)
Around the corner, we have the bathroom. It's quite small, and the shower is only a corner shower, but it works just fine!
And last stop, at the end of the mini hall is the bedroom. I love the bigger windows in these two back rooms. It makes it feel not so much like a basement. One of my favorite things about the apartment so far has been the trains! We live pretty close to the freeway and train tracks. And it is a busy train yard!! Every couple hours, including all night, we can hear the trains and their whistles. I love it!

So. That's the apartment! Now... who's coming for a visit!?! :)
