Our Christmas. :)

The Christmas season has come and gone, but it was definitely one full of great memories for us! Of course, the Johnson family Christmas always starts with chocolates. Steve and I went to Salt Lake to help with the dipping for a weekend. And of course- the best part is when you get to lick off your fingers... yum!

Even though we weren't home for Christmas, we still decorated our apartment for the season. Here are a couple of my favorite decorations:
I received the nativity scene when I was 12 from my primary teachers. I absolutely love it! Last year was the first year that I didn't have it to display- it was lost somewhere in my parents house. But I found it this past October, and this was the first decoration to go up. The angel was a project for my Theater for Elementary Education class at SUU. We had to make puppets out of different objects, and this is the one I made out of a popsicle stick. It makes me smile, so we have put it on our tree for the past 2 years. :)

Another Johnson family tradition... actually a Wride family tradition... is my Grandma's Christmas party. All kinds of fun is had there! Enchilada dinner, delightful eclairs, peanut butter cup making, graham cracker "gingerbread" house decorating, and even Santa pays a visit! I look forward to this party all year! What a great time to get together with family and just have fun!

The actual Christmas holiday was spent with Steve's family in Cedar City, and we had so much fun!! I didn't have my camera with me a lot... so I missed lots of great photo moments. Like the caroling party on the 23rd, and Christmas morning itself! But- I did manage to capture a couple great moments. First, a picture of the Christmas Eve nativity. We went over to Bob and Barbara's house, where the kids reenacted the Nativity for us. Fabulous!! Next- our stockings Christmas morning. I love Christmas morning, and I'm sad I don't have any other pictures! But these will have to do for now. :)

The day after Christmas we drove to Zion with Steve's parents, Dan and Laura. We went on a small but icy hike- the Canyon Overlook Trail. It was absolutely beautiful! And Zion covered in snow may be my favorite view of Zion ever! Gorgeous!

Now- we've returned to Logan and we're getting ready to get back into things. :) I hope you had a fabulous holiday season as well!! (Look below for our Christmas card for you!)
Now... Bring on the new adventures of 2010!!

Hey--THANK YOU for posting that picture of the Nativity! We were in Logan for Christmas Eve this year, and we did our own nativity with Eric's family, which turned out great. However, as I looked at this picture (blown up of course), I remembered that no one does Wise Men Wear like my mom.

Seriously, I loved reading about your Christmas, and living the Caroling Party and Christmas Eve vicariously through you.
